Managing Director

Andrew started at McDonald Jones Homes in 1992 as a Contracts Manager. His strong accountancy background and leadership skills led him to become a Director and Shareholder of McDonald Jones in 1997. Andrew has overseen significant growth in the organisation and is committed to delivering excellent client service, quality internal systems, and sound financial direction. He has also been pivotal to the establishment of our Charitable Foundation.

Chair

Ian was appointed chair of NEX Building Group in January 2020. He is a director and chair of the audit & risk committee of ASX-listed New Hope Corporation and Vice-President of the Australia Japan Business Cooperation Committee.
He brings the experience of 20 years as a partner in international law firms working on Japan-Australia business. Ian is the only person to have represented both the Australian Wallabies and Japanese Brave Blossoms.

Director

Koji joined the NEX Building Group in 2022 as a representative of Japanese shareholder Asahi Kasei Homes. Upon commencing with the Group, he was appointed as a Director.

Koji's strong background and experience have seen him manage numerous mergers and acquisitions for Asahi Kasei and successfully deliver new business incubation projects.

The NEX Building Group is now leveraging Koji's capabilities and knowledge to achieve business growth for the organisation.

His key responsibilities will be to discuss and set group strategies and policies to achieve NEX Building Group’s mid-term business plan and goals and working closely with the Australian senior management team.

Director

Yoshi was appointed Director in 2021 following Asahi Kasei Homes further investment in the NEX Building Group.
Yoshi's career at Asahi Kasei Homes spans more than 35 years. He commenced with AKH as a Sales Consultant, and later in his career worked in various roles, including Branch, HR and Admin GM.

Since 2018, Yoshi has been overseeing Asahi Kasei Homes’ overseas business both in Australia and the US.
Yoshi is fully committed to supporting the NEX Building Group and its goals of providing our customers with comfortable and affordable premium housing.

Director

Masato was appointed as a Director of NEX Building Group in April 2022.

Masato brings more than 20 years of experience working with the Asahi Kasei Group. His extensive career has focused on the construction materials sector, developing insulation materials, optimising manufacturing processes and improving product value.

His key role at NEX Building Group is to drive environmental initiatives, including carbon neutral, which is becoming increasingly important in the industry.

Director

Taka joined the NEX Building Group as a Director in 2019 with a career of more than 25 years in the construction of residential dwellings and apartments in Japan, working in Asahi Kasei Homes.
Taka's focus is on construction improvement and adding the structure to R&D across the Group.
Having started his career as a Supervisor, Taka has handed over more than 500 residential homes to customers, and he approaches everything that he undertakes with a “customer centric” attitude.

Chief Operating Officer

Prior to Joining the NEX Building Group Anthony spent 30 years with leading ASX 200 industrial Company CSR. Anthony, a qualified chemical engineer, held a number of roles with CSR at state and national level.

As Executive General Manager CSR Masonry & Insulation Anthony was responsible for managing 20 manufacturing sites and 1,400 employees. Anthony leads the Groups manufacturing businesses.

Chief Financial Officer

Nick joined the NEX Building Group as Financial Controller in 2012, and took over the CFO role in January 2015.
Starting out in one of the Big 4 accounting firms, Nick brings a wealth of knowledge to the business following a successful chartered career and a number of Senior Finance roles in some of Australia’s largest ASX listed companies. Nick has made significant changes to the way in which Finance ‘puts itself into the operations’, whilst at the same time ensuring we maintain a strong financial position.

Head of Corporate Affairs

Brett joined the NEX Building Group in 2020 following a career of more than 35 years in corporate communications and broadcast media.
He works with the executive team across the Group's brands providing strategic communications advice to build awareness.
He also manages communications with government and industry bodies.

Group Marketing Manager

Nathan joined the NEX Building Group in 2012 following an extensive career spanning more than 30 years working across Sales and Marketing roles within Multi-National and leading Blue Chip organisations.
He supports a diverse brand portfolio by providing strategic marketing direction, media planning, creative solutions and marketing campaigns. Nathan manages a dynamic team of marketing professionals who assist in keeping numerous brands at the forefront of the residential home market, setting the benchmark for others to follow.

Chief People Officer

Elizabeth joined NEX Building Group in 2021 and has over 20 years of experience in HR. This complements an impressive start to her career in Safety.

Elizabeth has gained her experience in large companies, including OneSteel, RCR Infrastructure, ResMed, Ruralco and most recently APA. Elizabeth’s strengths as a Commercial Business Partner have seen her lead many significant business transformational change programs. Elizabeth has qualifications in WHS and HR and is currently completing her MBA.
